The 25+ year multi-dimensional career of Michael W. Smith includes numerous Grammy Awards, Dove Awards, number one songs, Gold Albums, Platinum Albums, music videos, movie soundtracks, books, a movie, and more. Michael W. Smith has also been active in international organizations including Compassion International and local organizations like his Rocketown club for teenagers.
Another venture of Michael W. Smith is Rocketown Records. Founded in 1996 by Michael W. Smith and Reunion Record's Don Donahue, the Rocketown Record label had a mission to focus on new artist development with a family atmosphere.
Michael W. Smith and wife Debbie helped start the New River Fellowship Church in 1999, located in Franklin, Tennessee. Michael remains part of the church's core leadership team as elder/founding pastor.
In 2006, Michael W. Smith starred with Jeff Obafemi Carr in the theatrical movie The Second Chance, also released later that year on DVD.
The beginning of 2011 marked a historic tour when Michael W. Smith reunited with Amy Grant for the nationwide 2 Friends Tour.
Michael W. Smith has had the opportunity to sing for presidents, national leaders, community gatherings, memorials, the Billy Graham Crusades, national and international television ... and his work is not yet done.
