Sunday evening, November 5, 2000, marked the final day of the Billy Graham Jacksonville Florida Crusade. Michael W. Smith performed in front of 65,000+ people representing all ages and a diverse group of people. Prior to Dr. Graham's special message and following a spirited performance by the group Take 6, "Smitty" first performed an energy charged song titled "Missing Person" followed by an abbreviated version of his classic "Friends". Next he presented an instrumental track from his new album "Freedom" (to be released November 21st). This is the first time I have neard this new song, and it had an impressive new sound to it that I give a definite thumbs up. For his final song he did an incredible and powerful version of "This Is Your Time" which featured a live group of bagpipe players at the end to accentuate the song's special finale. This all too short but worthy performance was classic Smitty which from past experience means it was a five out of five! |
